Concert bomber ‘not lone wolf’

THE suicide bomber who murdered 22 concert goers in Manchester was not a lone wolf attacker, police said yesterday.

They have contacted Libyan police in an attempt to interview Salman Abedi’s younger brother, Hashem, 20, who is being held in Libya. He has reportedly confessed to being an Islamic State member and having prior knowledge of the attack.

Detective Chief Superintendent Russ Jackson, head of the North West Counter Terrorism Unit, said: ‘We do believe there are other people potentially involved. We do not believe Abedi was part of a large network, but further arrests are possible.’

It killed 22 men, women and children and injured more than 250 at Manchester Arena on May 22.
