KING FINED £2,000 OVER YANWORTH SHAME

Trainer Alan King has been fined £2,000 by the British horseracin­g Authority over yanworth’s failed drugs test following the Champion hurdle. The seven-year-old gelding, favourite for the Cheltenham race in which he finished seventh, tested positive for triamcinol­one acetonide, an anti-inflammato­ry which can be legitimate­ly used but is banned on race day.

Ante-post favourite and Investec Derby runner-up Cliffs Of Moher will face a maximum of eight rivals in tomorrow’s Coral-eclipse Stakes at Sandown. The Richard hannon-trained Barney Roy, runner-up to Churchill in the 2,000 Guineas before winning the St James’s Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot, heads the dangers along with Derby-fourth eminent.
