Kitchen boss to retire

THE founder and chief executive of Howdens Joinery is to retire, with the kitchen firm poaching the boss of Screwfix to replace him.

Matthew Ingle, 63, will leave Howdens in 2018 after 22 years with the group, and will be succeeded by Andrew Livingston from the building trade supplier.

Ingle, a married father of two who founded Howdens in 1995, will be named honorary lifetime president when he steps down.
