A COLUMN item on July 3 said that, according to DUP leader in the Commons Nigel Dodds, Gordon Brown sought a deal with the DUP to keep Labour in power after the 2010 General election. In fact, the former Labour leader has confirmed he was not personally involved in any post-election communications with the DUP about a Labour/DUP pact or any other matter and maintained a position of neutrality between the Northern Ireland parties. We are happy to set the record straight.
