Voice of the moderates

-

I WAS glad to see the Mail’s report of how moderate Labour MP Luciana Berger has been treated by hardliners in the party. She is not the first this has happened to.

Joe Anderson, the Mayor of Liverpool, wanted to stand for Labour in Liverpool Walton, a seat that was being vacated by the new Liverpool City Mayor, Steve Rotherham, but he was rejected in favour of Len McCluskey’s sidekick.

Mr Anderson was furious and said he’d have a lot to say after the election. But so far he’s said nothing.

If Ms Berger has any sense, she will tell them what to do and resign. If she then stood as an independent, she would win hands down, as she is a good MP and well liked. SHIRLEY WHYATT, Maghull, Merseyside.
