Denied a blue badge

I DON’T agree that blue badges for disabled parking are given out too easily. At the age of 60, my husband got prostate cancer, and at 63 he was in intensive care with sepsis, heart failure and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

The fantastic care he got at Northern General Hospital gave him another two years of life. All he asked for was a blue badge to assist him with parking for his hospital appointments. On the day he died in January of heart failure and COPD, he received a letter from Sheffield City Council telling him he didn’t meet the criteria for a blue badge. Mrs C.
