Bernhard Langer went on the offensive last week, issuing a passionate statement in answer to heated criticism that his current putting method violates the law regarding anchoring. Given he’s been cleared by the governing bodies, no wonder he’s infuriated. But, with one hand on a long putter so near to his chest he’s brushing his clothing, he’s so close to the line it’s not surprising some believe he’s acting against the spirit of the law.
