Rutherford’s fitness race

DEFENDING long jump champion Greg Rutherford has been picked in the Great Britain team for the World Championships despite doubts over his fitness. The 30-year-old suffered an ankle injury last month which has left him struggling to be fit for next month’s event in London. ‘I am doing everything to give myself the best chance,’ said Rutherford. Adam Gemili has only made the 4x100metres relay squad.
