A new leash of life in the Lakes

A YEAR ago, Cher was found tied to a post on a hot day in Cyprus without any food or water and with a broken leg. She faced being taken to a municipality pound and being put down after two weeks.

Luckily, DALI Dog Rescue intervened and in September she was flown to Britain to begin a new life as my pet.

She has a happy life exploring the Lake District (pictured) and we plan to walk all the Wainwright fells to raise awareness of the shelter that saved her. Cher will have clocked up 60 fells by the end of this week and we are hoping to complete all 214 before next summer. HAYLEY LEECE, Ambleside, Cumbria.
