■ NFL SPONSOR Sandwich restaurant Subway has won a contract to sponsor the london NFl American football games.

The firm will be lead sponsor of the matches to be played in October, and will work with the NFl to roll out its schools initiative.

■ RYANAIR TIMINGS low- cost airline Ryanair said 87pc of its flights arrived on time last month – down from the 90pc punctualit­y it boasted in May.

The firm, which carried 11.8m customers in over 65,000 flights, added that it had received fewer than two complaints per 1,000 customers.

■ NEX RISING Electronic trader Nex Group saw revenues jump 10pc over the last quarter as interest rate rises in the US and an improvemen­t in economic conditions in Europe boosted financial markets.

Nex, which was spun out of Icap to focus on trading, said that it believed markets are heading back to ‘ normalised conditions’.

■ TECH SETBACK Sports technology firm GoTech Group sank yesterday after reporting that it has failed to secure NHS backing for its skills2ach­ieve programme, a digital, physical literacy assessment programme for schools, developed with sport and education charity Youth Sport Trust.

The firm had hoped the NHS would help it get the programme into around 200 schools.

■ STOBART THRIVING Transport firm Eddie Stobart Logistics saw sales grow 13pc to around £287m in the first half of the year despite political and economic instabilit­y in the UK.

The UK firm, which listed in April, said the second half of the year has begun well and is traditiona­lly its stronger period for sales because of more customer interest.

It said full-year performanc­e is expected to be in line with expectatio­ns. The company’s shares remained flat at 158.5p.

■ RECRUITMEN­T SURGE Recruiter Robert Walters saw UK profits grow by 13pc in the three months ended June 30, boosted by strong hiring figures in london.

The results flew in the face of rival PageGroup, which earlier this week reported that it had suffered a drop in UK activity this year.

Robert Walters reported that it had enjoyed particular­ly strong recruitmen­t activity in the financial services and IT sectors.

As a group, profits rose 25pc yearon-year to £86.3m.
