Skupskis hope for Klopp date

- MATTHEW LAMBERT on Court No 12

AFTER bowing out in the quarter-finals at Wimbledon, the next dream for Liverpool’s Skupski brothers is to play Anfield manager Jurgen Klopp. Neal, 27, and Ken, 34, who lost yesterday in their first ever SW19 quarter-final, were asked if their run had attracted any interest from their beloved Liverpool FC and Ken had to admit: ‘Jurgen hasn’t been in touch. ‘I’ve always wanted to play Jurgen.’ The Skupskis lost a tight first set against No 4 seeds Marcelo Melo and Lukasz Kubot and the Brazil-Croatia pair went on to win 7-6, 6-4, 6-4. Ken later won through to the quarter-finals in the mixed doubles as he and Jocelyn Rae knocked out No 12 seeds Max Mirnyi and ekaterina Makarova. The British duo claimed their fourth match point to win 5-7, 6-4, 9-7. Next up they face Jamie Murray and Martina hingis.
