KONTA’S opponent Venus Williams is having her best season at the Slams since 2007, the last time she reached two semi-finals. She lost in the final at Melbourne this January and, having taken just over seven hours to get through the first five rounds here — three fewer than Konta — she was back on the practice courts at noon yesterday.
