Princess’s right royal curtsey for the King
SHE has spent a lifetime on the receiving side of curtseys – but Princess Anne showed last night that she is still more than prepared to get down on bended knee herself.
The Princess Royal offered an outstretched white glove and performed an elaborate curtsey to greet the visiting King and Queen of Spain at the Guildhall banquet.
She was following royal etiquette by showing reverence to King Felipe, 49, and Queen Letizia, who outrank her own royal status.
Dressed in dazzling diamonds and a midnight blue gown with flattering ruching around the waist, Queen Letizia, 44, and her husband arrived to The Queen’s Colour Squadron Guard of Honour at the glitzy banquet in honour of their state visit.
And earlier yesterday, the Spanish Queen appeared captivated by Harry when she met the Prince at Westminster Abbey.
She was seen gazing into the 2-year-old’s eyes as he accompanied her and her husband on their visit.
It was Prince Harry’s first official role in a state visit to Britain, joining the Spanish royals at the grave of the Unknown Warrior inside the Abbey.
The couple are on the first state visit to Britain by a Spanish king since Felipe’s father, Juan Carlos, came 1 years ago.
