Farah to finish track career in Birmingham
SIR MO FARAH will compete for the final time on the track at the Diamond League meeting in Birmingham on August 20. The 34-year-old had been expected to end his track career at the World Championships in London next month, but will now race again a week later. It is not yet known what distance he will run at the Alexander Stadium. Farah, who is turning his attention to the marathon, said: ‘I’m looking forward to what will be my final track race in Britain at the Muller Grand Prix in Birmingham. ‘To say goodbye in front of a British crowd means a lot to me. I’ve had fantastic support throughout my career from people all over the UK, so I’ll be looking for a good final performance to thank the fans.’
