Proof that foxes are cheekier than ever!
ONCE a single human footstep would have sent him scurrying away to safety.
But it seems the urban fox is much bolder these days. Not only did this chap go nose-to-nose with a man and his camera, he cheekily poked out his tongue for good measure.
The fox was snapped by wildlife photographer Giedrius Stakauskas during one of the animal’s many visits to his back garden in Bromley, south-east London.
Instead of retreating from the camera, the fox seemed more than ready for his close-up. He is now so comfortable around Mr Stakauskas and his partner Dalia Kvedaraite that he and his friends regularly settle down for a nap in their presence when they visit the garden.
Mr Stakauskas, 41, who has named the fox Paw, said: ‘For the first couple of years we photographed foxes through the kitchen window ... at the beginning Paw was a bit cautious, but after some time he allowed us very close to him.
‘In this shot ... he was only a couple of feet away from me.’
