FIRSt we had Call the Midwife, then One Born Every Minute, now the highland Midwife. this latest show tracks the pregnancies and births ( in graphic detail) of three women in rural Scotland.

Meanwhile, Poldark’s wife Demelza went into labour last Sunday while digging for potatoes. Mercifully, both mum and baby were all wrapped up in bed by the time Ross got home.

What a relief, as the truth is that other people’s birthing videos, whether real or fictional, are about as entertaining as watching those spuds grow.
