DIESEL
drivers to France beware. The controversial anti- pollution scheme Crit’Air, introduced in Paris in January, has been tightened since July 1. It now bans from the city on weekdays any diesel vehicle first registered before 2001. The system requires all motorists, including foreigners entering Paris and other major cities, to display one of six colourcoded stickers defining how polluting their car is, or face a fine of £60. Stickers cost £ 3.60, through the official website, though drivers need to be on their guard for rogue sites charging up to £30 for a badge. Visit: certificat- air. gouv.fr/en/demande-ext
