HOWSON stepped down this week after shares in the infrastructure group crashed 70pc following a profit warning. It has scrapped dividend payments to save £80m, and is looking to slash other costs. ‘Like trying to bail out a supertanker with a soup spoon,’ was one analyst’s verdict.
