ARSENE WENGER is ready to disregard the Europa League next season to ensure Arsenal sustain a title challenge. The Gunners will play in European football’s lesser competition for the first time since 1999-2000 after failing to qualify for the Champions League last season. And Sportsmail understands the Gunners boss does not view the Europa League as a priority and is planning to use the competition to give his fringe players and youngsters more game time. Wenger knows he is under pressure to deliver a strong title challenge next season after signing a new contract, despite intense opposition from a section of supporters. Wenger’s stance could change if they reach the latter stages of the competition. Meanwhile, Monaco have told Arsenal that Thomas Lemar is not for sale. The Gunners have had two bids for the France international — the second worth £45million — turned down. Lemar is keen to join Arsenal, who remain confident of landing their man, but Monaco are reluctant to part with their winger.
