A TRUE epic. Winning a fifth set that lasted 95 minutes, Federer surpassed Sampras’s record of 14 Grand Slams in front of a rapturous Centre Court. In his post-match interview a tearful Roddick jokingly apologised to his fellow American for not holding Federer off.
2012 Beat ANDY MURRAY 4-6, 7-5, 6-3, 6-4
ANDY MURRAY became the first British man in the Wimbledon final since 1938 but Federer made it a sensational seven with another masterclass.
2017 Beat MARIN CILIC 6-3, 6-1, 6-4
A PROCESSION towards a record eighth title for Federer. Marin Cilic required treatment on his left foot during the match, and was duly swept aside in straight sets.
