ENGLAND are set to face Scotland in the Women’s Euro 2017 championsh­ip tomorrow (7pm, Ch4), but if you thought women’s football was a modern phenomenon, think again. Because, remarkable though it seems, a hundred years ago, the women’s game was enormously popular, with star players drawing crowds of up to 60,000.
