Costa shows Conte his true colours in shirt stunt

- HARRY SLAVIN

DIEGO COSTA has taunted Chelsea by partying in an Atletico Madrid shirt and telling team-mate Cesc Fabregas to ‘give Conte a hug’. The striker, who is pushing for a move back to the Spanish club after falling out with manager Antonio Conte, upped the ante yesterday during a live Instagram broadcast. Costa is in Lagarto, Brazil, having been excused from pre-season training by Chelsea and learning from Conte last month that he is not in his plans. Earlier during his holiday, the 28-year-old was pictured quadbiking. And now he has filmed friends chatting and drinking at a party, before turning the camera on himself to reveal the 2013-14 Atletico shirt. Fabregas posted a laughing emoji and Costa responded by telling his team-mate to give Conte a hug. The stunt will surely hasten Costa’s exit from Stamford Bridge, but it remains to be seen whether he can join Atletico given the Spanish side’s current transfer embargo.
