Murray’s trip to fix sore hip

- MIKE DICKSON

ANDY MURRAY made a whistlestop trip to Switzerland at the weekend to seek advice about the hip injury that troubled him at Wimbledon. The world no 1 (right) posted a picture from his plane window of mountains and lakes, and it was confirmed the visit was in order to talk to a specialist. Murray was back at the All England Club on Sunday afternoon to congratulate brother Jamie on his mixed doubles title, catch up with other family members and pick up gear that he had left in the locker room. He is seeking different opinions about how to proceed with treatment for his hip condition, about which he has been publicly vague. According to his management, he will have further meetings with his support team in the coming days, which was always scheduled to be a week off regardless of Wimbledon’s outcome. Murray, whose limp seemed less pronounced as he waved to fans from the players’ enclave, appears to have several options. One of these is to take a lengthy break, and with six weeks still to go until the start of the US Open, he does not appear in the mood to hurry into making a major decision about his future.
