Double voting scandal

I AGRee that there should be an investigation into claims that people voted twice in the General election (Mail). I witnessed people in my constituency of Newcastle-underLyme who were not on the register asking to vote at the polling station — apparently, it had been happening throughout the day.

The officers on duty seemed flummoxed and were making phone calls to check if this could be allowed as they seemed not to know. The system is obviously open to widespread abuse.

The Labour MP Paul farrelly almost lost this seat with a majority of only 30. If this had been a fair election, might there now be another Conservative seat and the larger Tory majority that had been expected?
