Vue cinemas woos ex chief of ITV

-

FORMER ITV boss Adam Crozier could be about to switch from the small screen to the big screen amid claims he could become chairman of Vue International.

The 53-year-old has reportedly been approached by the cinema chain, which is considering a mega-sale or stock market flotation.

Crozier, who led ITV for seven years as chief execu- tive, is seen as having a strong track record for delivering value to shareholders, sources told Sky News.

He has previously been boss of the Football Association and Royal Mail and is credited with ending ITV’s overdependence on television ad revenues.

The appointment of the father-of-two could come within weeks but reportedly no deal has been agreed yet. Vue International has been owned by pension funds Omers and Aimco since 2013 but chief executive Tim Richards revealed earlier this month it could put itself up for sale.

He told The Times that the company was talking to banks about a possible deal and was seeking overseas buyers but had also not ruled out taking it public.

Vue declined to comment.
