THIRTEEN years after Ian Poulter made headlines with his Union Jack trousers at The Open, Justin Thomas will raise the fashion stakes by playing a round of golf in a tie. On Twitter yesterday, Ralph Lauren revealed an artist’s impression (right) of the outfit the American will wear in round one at Birkdale, including a button-down shirt, cardigan and tie. Sure beats the pink trousers he wore at the US Open.
