1 18th hole, Carnoustie, 2007 Open (right) I’d give the nod to my pitch shot at Carnoustie because I was at my lowest point, having hit two bad shots into the burn and I was in grave danger of throwing away my first major. My pitch to 4ft got me into the play-off and not only saved the day but possibly my career. 2 17th hole, Royal Birkdale, 2008 Open The purest shot I’ve ever hit. That pitch at Carnoustie was a mental triumph while this one was all about technique and confidence. 3 2nd hole, Ryder Cup, Oakland Hills 2004 Playing Jay Haas in a crucial singles match, I’d hooked my first shot wildly and lost the hole. On the next I took the driver again and drew it round the corner, a distance of 360 yards. That was a ballsy shot, and set me up for my win.
