Charlie’s predicament

-

THE parents of Charlie Gard are absolutely right in trusting the more advanced U.S. in medical matters than our cash-starved NHS.

Anyone who thinks otherwise is lucky they were not deceived into believing the Liverpool Pathway was all about being kind to their elderly relatives by putting them down.

JOHN EVANS, Wokingham, Berks. I WOULD hate to upset Charlie’s parents, but I wonder why they want to keep such a poorly baby alive.

I worked as a nurse for many years and looked after some very sick people. I’m sure if it was my baby I would not want him kept on life support, and I can’t think what the parents hope to gain by it.

Even though they raised the money to take him abroad for treatment, they haven’t been allowed to go — with good reason. I hope Charlie will soon be at peace. Ms M. TURNER, Kidderminster, Worcs.
