Burberry sales guru poached to run Topshop

-

SIR Philip Green has poached a sales guru from Burberry to run Topshop.

In his second major appointment this week, Green has lured Burberry’s chief merchandising officer Paul Price to become chief executive of the High Street fashion chain, in a bid to turn around falling sales and profits.

Price was at Burberry for nine years and had been widely credited with helping it expand into China. His appointment comes just days after Sir Philip appointed Baroness Karren Brady as chairman of his Taveta retail empire. As well as taking charge of the UK operations of Topshop and Topman, Price, who has had stints at Lucky Brand Jeans, Williams-Sonoma and Banana Republic, will spearhead its global expansion.
