Saddled with them
IT IS not only the Prudential race at the end of July that causes huge inconvenience ( Letters), but the almost weekly events and the hun- dreds of cyclists practising on the hills and lanes. Riders are keen to stress their green credentials, but what of the queues of traffic in low gear forced to follow them as it is almost impossible to overtake a group in country lanes?
Few cyclists look ahead and signal to motorists to go by, which most horse riders do. They frequently weave into the middle of a road to avoid potholes and often have headcams in order to be able to ‘blame’ any unfortunate car driver who gets in their way.
As for using the perfectly good cycle lane beside the road, forget it. JANE GOODFELLOW, Cranleigh, Surrey.
