THE boss of Dixons Carphone was paid £1.8m last year – up from £1.6m the year before – after profits topped £500m.

Seb James’s £832,000 salary was topped up by a £867,000 bonus and perks such as pen- sion contributions and other benefits.

The third son of Lord Northbourne lives with his wife Anna and four children in Oxford, went to Eton and Oxford with close friend David Cameron and was a member of the Bullingdon Club.

He owns 606,835 Dixons Carphone shares worth £1.6m.
