Boerse confusion
DEUTSCHE Boerse chief executive Carsten Kengeter has not yet been exonerated of insider trading allegations, officials said yesterday – a day after the exchange said a probe had been dropped.
Deutsche said it did a deal with the Frankfurt prosecutor in which Kengeter would be cleared of personal wrongdoing and Deutsche would be fined £10.5m. But the public prosecutor said yesterday the investigation was open, and Deutsche said the proceedings were ‘ongoing’. German watchdog BaFin is probing whether the Deutsche statement was misleading.
