CHRIS DISMISSES SUIT WORRIES FOR KEY TIME TRIAL

- MATT LAWTON

CHRIS FROOME has dismissed concerns about the yellow jersey wearer’s skinsuit he will have to wear in the decisive Tour de France time trial in Marseille today. The high-tech suits worn by Team Sky in the opening time trial sparked complaints from rival teams after Froome and his colleagues dominated the stage in Dusseldorf. But Froome has to wear a suit provided by the race organisers today over the 22.5km course and he has another top time-trial rider in Rigoberto Uran just 29 seconds behind him. But, after sitting safely towards the front of a peloton that finished some 10 minutes adrift of stage winner Edvald Boasson Hagen here in Salon-de-Provence yesterday, Froome said: ‘I’m always honoured to wear the yellow jersey and at the end of the day it’s about the legs.’ His legs should be good enough on a course that begins and ends in Marseille’s Stade Velodrome thanks to two tarmac tracks laid across the football pitch.
