Is Lineker worth it?

I CALCULATE that Gary Lineker presents 45 Match of The Days a year, and speaks on each show for no more than 15 minutes.

That works out at about 11 hours of broadcasting annually for his £1.8 million salary, or £164,000 an hour — more than newsreader Sophie Raworth earns in a year.

I think £150,000 should be the maximum paid by the BBC — surely, that’s enough for anyone.
