BOUNDARIES DISPUTE

BOTH SKY and the BBC have irritated locals by saying that Birkdale is in Lancashire. It used to be, of course, but became part of Merseyside when boundaries were redrawn 40 years ago. Suffice to say, it remains a sensitive issue here.
