Five injured as chainsaw attacker runs amok
A CHAINSAW-wielding attacker sparked an international manhunt after injuring five in Switzerland yesterday.
Franz Wrousis, 51, was on the run last night after targeting an insurance firm in the northern town of Schaffhausen.
Two victims had emergency surgery and were said to be ‘covered in blood’ after the attack at around 10.30am.
Three others were also treated in hospital.
Described as an ‘outsider’ by police, Wrousis has a long criminal record and was living out of a VW van in the woods.
Yesterday more than 100 officers in Switzerland and Germany were searching for him.
Police believe he is still armed with the chainsaw and may have other weapons.
Members of the public were advised to look out for a man who is ‘6ft 2in tall, bald and with an unkempt appearance’.
Last night police said he is a schizophrenic who was a client of the health insurance firm whose employees he attacked.
