FIVE thousand Rolling Stones fans went mad last night after guitarist Keith Richards tried to kick a youth who had run on stage. They smashed £2,000 worth of the group’s equipment and hurled a grand piano off stage at the Empress Ballroom in Blackpool. Richards said: ‘A gang kept spitting at us while we were playing. I lost my temper.’

FoUR hundred would-be squatters are waiting to invade Sunninghil­l Park, near Ascot, Berkshire, believed to be the chosen home of Princess Elizabeth and lieutenant Philip Mountbatte­n. The squatters have written a ‘round robin’ to the Princess explaining their need for homes and telling her how suitable the land would be.

IMAn, 62. The Somali-born former fashion model, entreprene­ur and philanthro­pist ( right) was born Zara Mohamed Abdulmajid and renamed Iman — ‘Faith’ in Arabic — at her grandparen­ts’ request. She is the widow of David Bowie and, on what would have been their 25th anniversar­y in June, posted a tribute saying: ‘I would walk forever, just to be in your arms again.’ RITA MARlEY, 71. Bob Marley’s widow has said she was aware of his many infideliti­es and would often ‘usher women out of his room’. They had three biological children together, and 11 more between them. Bob had eight children with eight other women; Rita had three others: one before she met Bob, and two others while married to him.

ESTEllE GETTY ( 1923- 2008). The Golden Globe-winning U. S. actress shot to fame aged 63 playing the octogenari­an matriarch in TV comedy The Golden Girls (right), quipping: ‘After 50 years in the business, I’m an overnight success.’ GAVRIlo PRInCIP (1894-1918). In June 1914, the Bosnian Serb, aged 19, assassinat­ed Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria in Sarajevo with just one shot. The killing led to Austria-Hungary’s invasion of Serbia, which triggered World War I. He escaped hanging, as he was two weeks short of his 20th birthday and died in jail of TB.
