Once-loved Auntie
WHEN I was at the BBC in the Sixties, it was accepted that the pay was poor, but that was not important compared to the kudos of working there.
There was a real sense of belonging to a family and I always felt looked after at Television Centre in London. The emphasis was on programme quality and this was reflected in the excellent output.
However, over the years since I left, I’ve watched the BBC deteriorate. Nowadays, it is so biased, antigovernment, anti-monarchy and anti- religion that its news and current affairs programmes are almost unwatchable.
