MY BEST BEAUTY TIP— DITCH YOUR PILLOW

A SIMPLE trick for banishing double chins is to sleep without a pillow.

This tip was first given to me over 40 years ago. I don’t have a double chin, and still wake up feeling fabulous.

That’s because when you sleep on a pillow, your chin is squashed unnaturall­y down, causing sagging, whereas if you lie flat, the muscles will stay taut.

Because of gravity, if your head is on a pile of pillows, your heart (which is obviously below your head) will not pump as much blood to the brain as when you sleep flat. By ditching the pillows, you are also preventing facial puffiness, eyebags and a stoop.

Don’t try to sleep flat immediatel­y, however, especially if you have been used to two or three pillows. Cut down gradually, taking about three months before you sleep totally flat.
