Movie role that Charlize was dyeing for

Her latest film is called Atomic Blonde. But Charlize Theron has admitted she needed some help to achieve her titular character’s hair colour.

The 41-year-old said she has become ‘very grey’ in recent years and needed the aid of blonde hair dye for her portrayal of MI6 agent Lorraine Broughton in the Cold War-era spy thriller.

However, while her hair may secretly be starting to show the telltale signs of age, the South African-born star still looked as youthful as ever at the film’s premiere in Los Angeles on Monday night. She donned a daring see-through black shirt that revealed her black bra underneath.

It was matched with a short fringed black skirt with sheer panels that showed off the actress’s toned legs.

Miss Theron first revealed her greying locks after shaving her head in 2012 for her role in Mad Max: Fury road.

During filming, the mother-of-two was spotted out and about with a buzz cut displaying her natural salt and pepper hair colour. Ahead of Monday’s premiere, Miss Theron also discussed a lesbian sex scene with actress Sofia Boutella in her new film, which also stars James McAvoy. It comes after she romanced Christina ricci in her Oscar-winning performance in 2003 film Monster.

‘It should be normalised. I feel it is not represented enough in cinemas’, she said during an appearance on US chat show Watch What Happens Live.

‘If you make movies, if you are going to hold that mirror up and reflect society, then you should represent society.’
