Feminist activist leading Vogue’s revolution

-

THE BIGGEST makeover in fashion is under way at Vogue HQ, as its new editor, Edward Enninful, unveils his latest recruits .

And who better to pioneer the ‘post-posh’ era than 25-year-old feminist activist and former drug addict, Adwoa Aboah?

Enninful posted this photo of the British-born model online in which she sports a floral headpiece, yellow shades and silver tooth caps — she recently added a Playboy bunny jewel on her teeth.

Enninful is said to be on a mission to purge the magazine of ‘posh girls’ and his new contributing editor Adwoa is the latest to rally to his cause. When she’s not partying with the equally gregarious Cara Delevingne, Adwoa, daughter of fashion photography agent Camilla Lowther and fashion location scouter Charles Aboah, likes to post risque selfies from her bathtub or her bed.

‘So proud to have been chosen to work alongside so much new, young and fresh talent,’ she says. ‘This is only the beginning.’

And with such a colourful past, a new beginning could be just what she needs.

She recently opened up about her problems in a film by the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and Prince Harry as part of their Heads Together mental health campaign, in which she candidly spoke about her addiction, bipolar disorder and depression. She also founded Gurls Talk, an online platform empowering young women.
