VIRGIN: NO DEBT BINGE

VIRGIN Money has denied luring customers into a dangerous borrowing binge through ultra-long zerointerest credit card deals.

The bank is one of the most enthusiastic providers of the offers, which have drawn criticism from campaigners who believe the tactic is encouraging a surge in debt.

But chief executive JayneAnne Gadhia yesterday insisted the bank was behaving responsibly: ‘We’re certainly not encouraging our customers to get into debt.’
