SALMON, who weighed 28 stone, punched, pinched, slapped and even sat on residents at the Cornwallis Care Services nursing home in St Ives, Cornwall, where she worked.

On one occasion, she threw a 99-year-old onto her bed and pushed the same woman, in her wheelchair, into a closed door. She also dug her nails into a patient and sprayed deodorant into the face of another resident.

Salmon, 40, of Camborne, Cornwall, was convicted at Truro Crown Court of seven charges of ill-treating or neglecting residents in 2013. She was jailed for nine months. The judge said she showed ‘no remorse or regret’.
