CARER Lund, 54, from Long Preston, North Yorkshire, kicked and bit a dementia patient, making her finger bleed, at Limestone View Extra Care home, in Settle. A colleague saw Lund tell the woman to ‘stop acting like a child’ before kicking her leg and biting her hand, causing the victim to scream.

Lund was found guilty of assault in May and sentenced to a 12-month community order with 20 rehabilitation days and 150 hours of unpaid work.

Harrogate magistrates also ordered her to pay £860 court costs.
