Julie Sayles
THE 59-year-old used her status as a carer for the local charity she ran to deceive 102-year-old Edith Negus and steal £287,688 of her life savings.
Sayles, from Bridlington, East Yorkshire, bought two houses with the money she took from Edith, claiming, following the pensioner’s death in October 2014, that it had been gifted to her as a ‘thank you’. She also wrote herself into the elderly woman’s will in an effort to take the rest of her assets, which Edith had planned to leave to a niece. She was jailed for nine years.
