DAME JESSICA ENNISHILL will finally receive the heptathlon gold medal that she was cheated of at the 2011 World Championships in a ceremony at the London Stadium on August 6. The 2012 olympic champion was robbed of gold by russian drugs cheat Tatyana Chernova six years ago and learned yesterday that she will get her medal upgrade a week on Sunday.

ENGLAND women’s hockey head coach Danny Kerry suffered a heart attack during this month’s World League semi-final in South Africa. Kerry, who led Great Britain’s women to gold at the 2016 Olympics, was taken ill on July 15 in Johannesburg. He will now miss the defence of England’s European title next month.

WIGAN and Hull FC will make history by playing a Super League match in Australia. Wigan, the reigning champions, and Hull face off in Sydney on February 10. The match will be one game into the 2018 Super League season and is the first league fixture to be held outside Europe.
