The moment that Ryanair kicked hen party off ... and everyone else cheered

- By Liz Hull

passengers broke into applause and cheered when a rowdy hen party was kicked off a flight in Spain.

The women, who had been drinking, swearing and fighting with each other during the Ryanair service from Liverpool, were detained by police when it landed in Alicante. One passenger even shouts; ‘See ya, you’re not laughing now, are you?’

In video filmed by passenger Josh Daley, the five women can be seen arguing among themselves and with air hostesses.

As they are ushered off the plane by exasperated staff, one of the party says to a friend: ‘Get your bags, we’re being f****** chucked off.’

Other passengers can be heard clapping and cheering as they eventually leave the plane.

Another passenger, Adam Hunter, 23, said the pilot had threatened to divert the plane at one stage because of the women’s antics. The crew also stopped serving alcohol to all passengers in a bid to calm them down, he added.

‘It was disgraceful,’ he said. ‘Throughout the flight they stood in the aisles not listening to the pilot telling them to sit down. They had a warning that we would be diverted to France – the staff could not control it.’

The Ryanair crew contacted police during the flight to report the women’s bad behaviour and Spanish police were waiting when it landed on Thursday evening. Passengers were said to have been kept on board for an hour while officers dealt with the women. Ryanair said the group were detained by police and the matter was now in their hands. It is likely the party will be barred from travelling with the airline in the future.

Student Katie Bridges, 17, said: ‘They were a drunken mess. I could not even get up to go to the toilet because the girls would be in the aisle, fighting and shouting in each other’s faces.’ Mr Hunter said he was dismayed when he later saw the women in nearby Benidorm getting ready for a night out. ‘They should not have been let out of the airport after ruining so many people’s holiday,’ he said.

A spokesman for Ryanair said: ‘The safety and comfort of our customers, crew and aircraft is our number one priority and we will not tolerate unruly behaviour.’
