CHELSEA MOVE FOR BAYERN’S SANCHES

-

CHELSEA are interested in Bayern Munich’s powerhouse midfielder Renato Sanches after he impressed in their friendly on Tuesday. Manager Antonio Conte asked Bayern boss Carlo Ancelotti about the 19-year-old following the German champions’ 3-2 win against Chelsea in Singapore. Bayern chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said: ‘There are at least 10 teams that would take Sanches on loan. After the match on Tuesday, Conte asked us for information on the lad because he knows (Sanches) can make a difference in the middle of the park. He wants to play regularly, but Ancelotti was pleased with his performance against Chelsea. ‘We’ll make our evaluations later, but if he does leave then he will go on loan. We’re still counting on him.’ After Corentin Tolisso’s arrival from Lyon, Sanches is not central to former Chelsea manager Ancelotti’s plans for next season. AC Milan are already in advanced negotiations with a view to signing him in a two-year loan deal. Manchester United are also interested in the Portugal star, who joined Bayern on a five-year deal from Benfica last summer for an initial £40million.
