SADIQ IS FUELLED BY HYPOCRISY

ONe of the first to criticise environment Secretary Michael Gove’s decision to phase out new petrol and diesel cars by 2040 was London Mayor Sadiq Khan.

‘Londoners suffering right now simply can’t afford to wait until 2040,’ Labour’s Khan announced with his usual sanctimony.

Yet when President Macron of France announced an almost identical policy last month, Khan trilled: ‘I welcome the strong leadership the French government has shown by making the decision to end the sale of petrol and diesel cars by 2040. This radical step shamed the timid and insufficient response of our government to this health threat.’ What a fraud.
