SEX DIET EVERY COUPLE NEEDS

-

IF THINGS aren’t as passionate as they used to be, it seems counter-intuitive to prescribe sexual abstinence for a whole month, but this powerful exercise can supercharge a flagging love life — as long as you discuss your thoughts, feelings and reactions at every stage.

Week one — cuddling only

COMMIT to spending ten minutes of cuddling (in a non-sexual way) every day. Stop if one of you feels the desire to take things further.

Week two — kissing

CONTINUE your cuddling regimen, but add a little kissing into the mix. This shouldn’t be only a peck on the cheek, but real kissing.

Many couples abandon proper kissing once they’re in a settled relationship, but it is an important way to remember how to build real desire.

Week three — subtle stroking

INTERSPERSE your kissing and cuddling with a tender touch. Use different pieces of fabric or a feather and give feedback about what sensation and where feels good.

Allow the touch to become more sexual, but remember sex is still out of bounds.

Week four — repeat the phase you enjoyed most

DISCUSS together what this month has taught you about one another — and make sure you talk about what things you’d like to do more (or less!) of.
